Technical Operator - Brewing - 12month Fixed Term Contract

Function: Brewery Operations
Location: Tadcaster
Salary: £23,844 - £28,051 based plus £8,484 shift allowance

Why join Tadcaster?

There has never been a more exciting time to join the Heineken site in Tadcaster. As the flexible ‘go-to' brewery for Heineken, the site is a pivotal part of the Supply Chain network. Complexity is our strength and we currently brew and package (into bottles, cans or kegs) around 3.5 million hectolitres per year. We proudly brew some of the most important lager and ale brands in the UK, such as John Smith's, Amstel, Sol, Desperados, Newcastle Brown Ale, Kronenbourg 1664 and Tiger.

What's the role?

Reporting into the Shift Manager and working within a team you will all be responsible for running the brewing processes efficiently and effectively. As the ‘Go-To' Brewery you will need to be dynamic on a multitude of different brewing processes. Safety is our number priority so you will be trained on all our procedures that ensure Health & Safety is front of mind – then our focus is on Quality, Customer Service and Productivity. You will also need to deliver on the high standards of cleanliness and reliability on our production plant. With an attention to detail, delivering FTR (First Time Right) on quality and process, you will become a champion of our C.I.L.T's (cleaning, inspection, lubrication and tightening) tasks.

What are we looking for

We need motivated self-starters who will be proactive in taking ownership of their area. This means working to high standards – encouraging others to keep those same standards, with an eye for detail to pick up on possibly quality challenges. You will work alongside very capable team members who will help you out initially, along with your shift manager, - and once you're settled you will be expected to help drive continuous improvement within your area through our Total Productive Management programme (TPM), this is similar to LEAN theories.

With solid qualifications in Maths and English and a good understanding of IT systems, you will be comfortable working in an automated manufacturing environment with a desire to continue your learning – as HEINEKEN will support you in working towards a General Certificate in Brewing.

What do we offer?

Along with your salary and shift allowance, we offer an award-winning double matched pension (up to 10% from HEINEKEN), a performance bonus (based on site and personal performance), subsidised on-site canteen facilities, a case of our delicious products every month (can be accrued) plus a number of other perks included in your package.
