What are we looking for?
Reporting into the Quality Improvement & Microbiology Manager, you will be responsible for Microbiological, Chemical, and Flavour analyses as well as culturing our yeast to brew our world-class beers.  With your experience in a laboratory environment, your understanding of quality assurance and quality systems will be critical for carrying out sampling and analyses of raw materials, beers in-process and final pack in accordance with our agreed operating standards and methods.  You’ll be able to maintain and calibrate the equipment in our laboratories and make sure that these are up to ISO standards.  You will also be required to dispatch samples to other HEINEKEN sites and to outside agencies, these will need to be sent to meet sample schedules and as required on an ad hoc basis. Being fully conversant with LIMS systems is a must-have for this role, as you’ll need to use it for data handling and information processing.  An accurate eye for detail is also required, as you’ll be the eyes and ears across the site leading the way to quality excellence whilst coaching the operational teams to successfully deliver our vision.

With a relevant science degree, we are looking for people who have current Laboratory experience (Brewing and/or Food and Beverage Industry preferred but not essential)   Experience with problem-solving techniques would be an added bonus, and individuals with the right behaviors to make our vision a success!  This role may require you to work some shifts as Tadcaster Brewery operates 24/7 (on-call basis), and you may be required to provide cover for the other laboratory team sub-functions, however, this is a day-based role working Monday to Friday.
