Maintenance Development Engineer - Utilities

Function: Brewing Operations
Location: Manchester
Salary: £30,000 - £38,000 plus award-winning pension & competitive package

Why Join HEINEKEN?

There has never been a more exciting time to join our Manchester Brewery. We are firmly planted in the community thanks to a number of investments in the site over the past few years, totalling more than £70 Million. Our brewery remains a pivotal part of our UK supply chain network, producing around five million hectolitres per year of Foster's, Kronenbourg 1664 – and, more recently – Heineken®. We're delighted to have been given the quality seal of approval from our Amsterdam Head Office to brew Heineken on our site – and as a bonus, we're making our carbon footprint smaller in the process.

What's the role?

We need an engineer with a good experience of continuous improvement (we use TPM) to maximise the efficiency, effectiveness and value of our assets and resources. You will need to bring your detailed understanding and experience of modern maintenance techniques such as Preventative & Predictive Maintenance, FMECA & RCM and you will also need to be familiar with using CMMS as you will need this to analyse our breakdowns and develop maintenance strategies. A positive and supportive individual, you will lead lean teams and coach our frontline staff and technicians. At the heart of what you'll deliver is the compliance to all relevant safety and statutory requirements, with all of your achievements being clearly visible by improvements in KPI's.

The utilities engineering team have specialist roles across the Operation & Maintenance of a Steam Boilerhouse, Ammonia/Glycol cooling plants, and Compressed Air System, so some experience across these areas would be highly desirable.

What are we looking for?

A qualified electrical, mechanical or chemical engineer (Recognized engineering apprenticeship with HNC / HND or have achieved an engineering degree with several years' experience) you'll be comfortable using structured maintenance development techniques and experience of process and high-speed packaging equipment to deliver outstanding levels of reliability at optimum cost. Ideally, you'll have IOSH/NEBOSH qualifications already but we can put you through the training if not.

Your can-do attitude and enthusiasm will be warmly welcomed and your problem-solving skills will be put to good use. If you have a positive outlook with a continuous improvement mindset, and solid experience of modern planned maintenance techniques and CMMS, then we want to hear from you.

What do we offer?

Along with your salary, we offer an award-winning double matched pension (up to 10% from HEINEKEN), an annual performance bonus, private health insurance, free on-site gym and canteen facilities, a case of our delicious products every month (can be accrued) plus a number of other perks included in your package.
